Rui Maia is a talented multi instrumentalist producer from Porto. His day job is playing synths in the massive Portugese group X Wife. This is his debut on Untracked and features Cantonese Man, a nifty 80′s tinged groover and Moroder I Believe In You, which is a very neat synth driven number for the dancers. There’s also a Hot Coins Re-fix of Cantonese Man which takes the original into dubby Detroit territories without losing the quirky bounce of the original. Support from Cosmo Vitelli, Andy Blake (Dissident) and Severino (Horse Meat Disco).

It’s available to buy in Piccadilly, Phonica and Juno and should be outside of the UK by next week.
