Bit of a different Smugglers Inn this time. I have dug into the vaults for a couple of DJ mixes which haven’t been available for download before. The first mix was done in 2006 for Dieslers show on Samurai FM and features a healthy dose of the then emerging wonky hip hop sound with tracks from the likes of Rednose, Dilla, Spacek, Danny Breaks, Just One and even some hip hop from me (haven’t made a hip hop tune for well over a year!). The mix mutates into more uptempo stuff and ends up in dubstep territory – it was 2006 remember – I still went out in those days!

The second mix is the first hour of my set from the Big Chill. Not the radio station set which is on their site – this is the set I played in the evening on the Frisky Bison stage. The second hour is still languishing in my hard drive so look out for that in a few weeks. I started off on a bit of a disco tip with tracks by Solid State and Linkwood before heading off into house and garage territory with tracks by Theo Parrish, MCDE and Zed Bias.

Next weeks radio show will be business as usual with loads of brand new stuff but in the meantime here’s 2 hours of music with no links or jingles in sight.

Both these mixes are an hour long btw – it may look a bit mad having 53 tracks in 2 hours but it works. Honest.
