Well that’s July over and it’s definitely been the best month of the year so far for me. I am still on a high from the Garden Festival in Croatia (and now Freerotation too), so on this show I played a few things which went down well in Croatia and rambled on a bit about it all. I don’t get out much. What can I say?

The show contains a bloody marvelous guestmix from The Kelly Twins who promote their own ace clubnight UFO and also run Best Before with Sell By Dave and are often described as ‘robots’ on the decks due to their intense skills and stamina.

Bit of a different show this time. I was having a much needed break at my parents house in Scotland last week so I couldn’t record the show as normal. The show is a live mix special. The first 1.5 hours is the recording of my set at Freestyle at the Bulls Head in Moseley from the 24th April 2010.

The last half an hour is taken from the start of my set I played in Saltwater, Nottingham on 28/10/07 when I had the honour of supporting Move D. I was very in the zone at this gig due to a hectic weekend and I am really pleased it got recorded.

Flemming Dalum

I first became aware of Flemming Dalum when Ali Renault played me some of his mixes and I immediately had the same feeling as when I first heard Baldellis seminal cosmic tapes. Flemming expertly mixes up a multitude of styles under the Italo umbrella with the emphasis firmly on the word BOOGIE. Indeed most of his mix titles have the word boogie in the title and this one (Italo Space Boogie) is no exception.

Flemming has an immense record collection (25,000 at last count) which he has been steadily building for the last 30 years. He doesn’t like to repeat himself, so each mix contains handpicked and ultra rare tracks. He made his first buying trip (from his native Denmark) to Milan in 1983 and was soon a regular customer at disco shops Il Discotto, Discomagic, Non-Stop and Merak. The amazing choice and service he experienced there helped him build what must be the most comprehensive Italo collection in the world.
