I am off to Moscow tomorrow to play at the Headz FM night at Shanti. It will be my first time there so I am really excited. I had a great time in St Petersberg earlier on this year.

Yesterday I took a trip down to the Beatport office in Berlin to play a 2 hour set on their U Stream channel. I had a really fun time and played new tracks by Juju and Jordash, Mike Dehnhert, Franklin De Costa, Gerd, Move D, Falty DL and more. Big thanks to the Beatport guys for inviting me to play. Thanks also to everyone who tuned in live and sent me messages while I was playing.

I just got back from a nice little break in Amsterdam where I stayed with mega host and Lumberjack In Hell Marcel Vogel. I enjoyed an emotional reunion with Juju and Jordash and was lucky enough to get a preview of some of the ace new material they have on the way for Golf Channel, Dekmantel and Workshop. I also made the pilgrimage to Rotterdam on Wednesday to meet Duplex, Gerd 4Lux and Serge from uber distributors Clone which was great fun. It was nice to have some discussions about the current state of play in the scene with some people who are highly qualified to comment upon it.

My highlight of the trip had to be my set on Red Light Radio which you can stream/download below. I am still shocked by the Amsterdam Red Light District (it kind of destroys my value system) so getting to doing a live radio show looking out of a former prostitutes shop window was definitely one of my most memorable gigs to date. Big thanks to the Red Light crew and Marcel for hooking it up.

Red Rack’em @ About Blank Berlin 29-05-11 by Red Rack’em

This set was recorded on a lovely sunny sunday morning in the garden at about:blank in Berlin at the end of May. The night was called Leaves In Motion and it was a 24 hour event featuring Tama Sumo, Sven Weisemann, Marc Schneider and many more great DJs. I got up at 6.30 am to play an early morning set. You can see how odd it was to play a breakfast set on the video below.

It’s not the tightest mixing ever but I wanted to put it up anyway as it was a really enjoyable time. Playing my first outdoor gig in Berlin with a great crowd was an experience I won’t forget in a hurry.

I have just completed a new mix and interview for Aussie purveyors of deepness Melbourne Deepcast. It ties in nicely with my recent trip to Australia as the majority of the interview covers my time there. Which conveniently means I don’t need to do a Reportage style post about it. I have been meaning to write about the Oz trip for ages but it’s all in the interview so no need now.

The mix is a snapshot of where I am at right now. I am really happy with it. It contains a mixed bag of new names such as Sherbe and Cromie as well people that I consistently support like Souled, Ajukaja, Lady Blacktronika and Lone.

I am a bit late on posting about this for reasons I can’t even remember. Maybe I just forgot but anyway….DJ History asked me to do a mix of obscure rarities and fail to supply a tracklisting to test their trainspotter clientele. I tried to keep it offbeat without it being unlistenable as I think there’s quite a thin line between weird and shit. I would love to say more but…..it’s a mystery….

This was one of the best nights I have ever played at. Such a brilliant, vibrant crowd who knew their stuff. I would recommend anyone visiting Paris to check out Mona.

The resident Nick V is a really good DJ and the venue and crowd are ace. It’s held at La Java which is a really relaxed underground club which has a great vibe. Free food on the bar all night and some real house music dancers made for an energetic night which was still going strong when they turned the system off at 6am! Lots of clapping too for the Loft fans..

The whole night was recorded and cut up into 1 hour chunks – Me and Nick played 2 seperate hours each and then together at the end. Alex Murak and Slip Matt who had hosted Maurice Fulton that afternoon in Paris also played for an hour.
